SMOOTH MOVES MASSAGE, LLC

Hello! My name is Rachel Giuka, welcome to the beach! I'm a licensed massage therapist from a credible school near my hometown, and am an experienced licensed physical therapist assistant. I practiced as a PTA for 10 years at a skilled nursing facility and have been massaging for a little over a year.

TECHNIQUES OFFERED

Evaluated Upon Arrival

Upon completion of a new client intake form, together we can determine what kind of massage will suit you the best. Most of the time each massage consists of all four techniques based on certain areas of the body.

TRIGGER POINT THERAPY

Do you have that knot in your shoulder blade you just can't get rid of? Are you constantly on a computer slouched and your neck needs some TLC? Trigger point therapy will kick those knots to the curb.

DEEP TISSUE MASSAGE

Deep tissue massage utilizes more pressure which melts your stress away by releasing sore and tight muscles and fascia.

SPORTS MASSAGE

My description of a sports massage is a more vigorous and trigger point massage combined, heating up the muscles and sometimes adding a hot pack before or after the massage. Like the name of this massage, athletes and people who are sore after workouts can benefit from this type of massage.

STRETCHING

Most people forget to stretch throughout the day, causing stiff and tight muscles and joints. Stretching can alleviate pain as it provides flexibility within the joints, lengthening the muscles for improved flexibility and pain relief.

CUPPING

Cupping therapy is a technique I just added to my clinic.  The cups are applied by adding suction on the skin to draw the blood from an inflamed area, muscle, and/or knot to the surface, causing a pinkish to a dark red mark on the skin.  The mark can be left in the circle form from the cup or I may drag the cup along the inflamed area causing there to be a longer streak.  The cups do not hurt but can be a bit uncomfortable, and usually the redness can last up to a few days.
